Terms of Service
These terms apply to BilliardBase accounts. You can use the App without an account; then you don't need to agree to anything, and your data stays on your device.
1. Scope and provider
- BilliardBase is provided by Moritz Kohnke, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring 36, 48145 Münster, Germany, support@billiard-base.com ("we", "us").
- These terms apply when you create a BilliardBase account and to every feature you use with it (the "service"). You can use the App without an account; then these terms don't apply.
- When you download the App, the terms of the app store you use (Apple App Store or Google Play) apply as well. If they conflict with these terms about the account, these terms apply.
- Other terms of yours don't apply, even if we don't object to them.
2. The service
- With an account you can sign in with Apple, Google or a one-time code sent to your email address, choose a handle, and use the features the App offers to signed-in users. What these features are, and how they work, is described in the App.
- The service is free. If we ever offer paid features, we will tell you the price and conditions before you can buy them, and you decide whether you do.
- We develop the App continuously. We may add, change or remove features if there is a valid reason, such as technical development, security, legal requirements, or a change of service provider. Changes must be reasonable for you, considering your interests. If a change materially limits a feature you use, we will tell you in advance in the App or by email.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- The contract between you and us is concluded when you complete the sign-in for the first time and your account is created.
- An account is for one person. Don't share it, and don't create accounts for others or in someone else's name.
- Keep access to your sign-in method secure (your Apple ID, Google account or email inbox). Tell us at support@billiard-base.com if you think someone else is using your account.
4. Handles and acceptable use
- Your handle may be shown to other users where a feature shows it. Some handles are reserved and can't be chosen.
- Don't choose a handle that is offensive, discriminatory, sexual, impersonates another person or organisation, or infringes someone's rights (such as a trademark).
- When using the service, don't:
- break the law or violate the rights of others;
- access the service other than through the App, for example with scripts or bots, or put an unreasonable load on it;
- try to get around its security or access other users' data;
- upload content that is unlawful or contains malware.
- If a handle breaks these rules, we may reset it and ask you to choose a new one. For other breaches see section 7.
5. Your content
- Content you store with your account, such as your handle, profile, and matches or statistics you choose to sync or back up, remains yours.
- You allow us to store, copy, process and transmit this content to the extent needed to provide the service to you, for example to keep it on our servers or show your handle to other users. This permission is free of charge, non-exclusive, and ends when you delete the content or your account; copies in backups are removed as described in the privacy policy.
- Only store content you have the right to use.
6. Availability and your data
- We aim to keep the service available, but as a free service we can't guarantee that it is always available or free of errors. It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or problems at our service providers.
- Your matches, players and statistics are stored on your device. Features that copy them to our servers, such as a backup, are an addition to your device's data, not a replacement for it. Use the App's export to keep your own copy of data that matters to you.
7. Ending the contract
- You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account in the App (Profile → profile card → Delete account) or by email to support@billiard-base.com.
- We can end the contract with four weeks' notice, for example if we discontinue the service. We will tell you by email or in the App.
- We can end the contract without notice, or suspend your account, if there is a serious reason, in particular a serious or repeated breach of section 4. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you the chance to fix it.
- When the contract ends, your account and the data stored with it are deleted as described in the privacy policy. Data on your device is not affected, and you can keep using the App without an account.
8. Liability
- We are fully liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee.
- For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an obligation that is essential for the contract and on which you may regularly rely (a "cardinal obligation"). Our liability is then limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract.
- Beyond that, our liability for slight negligence is excluded. This also applies to the personal liability of people we work with.
9. Changes to these terms
- If we want to change these terms, we will show you the new version in the App at least four weeks before it takes effect and ask you to agree.
- The new terms apply to you only if you agree. Your silence or continued use doesn't count as agreement.
- If you don't agree, you can keep your account under the current terms until we end the contract under section 7.2, or delete it at any time. Using the App without an account is never affected.
10. Privacy, law and final provisions
- How we process your personal data is described in the privacy policy.
- German law applies. If you are a consumer, this choice doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
- We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
- If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest of the terms remain valid.
These terms of service are effective as of 2026-10-28.
